Simply put- I photograph! I love landscape photography! But I’ve got 3 boys (as of now) that keep me from travelling too far! Two years apart keeps you busy. I got to travel the states as a child. My parents moved across the country! That’s a whole other blog right there! I also got to travel to Japan! That is a beautiful country and I would love to take my family back to visit! I was in the Marine Corps for that- stationed at Mainland not Okinawa. But for all those opportunities, I didn’t start photographing till after I retired from the Corps.

Which brings me here. Not able to travel with my family- kids in school and husband has both a civilian job and a Navy career. Before you think ‘well you could just homeschool the kids’ … I in no way have that superpower! My sister and other homeschool parents I give you props for being able to do that. I have little patience for trying to teach my littles. I love watching them learn, but my techniques don’t fit their abilities. Kudos to teachers and homeschool parents!  I also have a leg injury that stops me from walking and hiking for too long. As much as I love photographing landscapes, I also love to photograph families and kids! They are so cute and unique- just like the land we walk on. So I’m categorized as a portrait photographer. Don’t let that injury deter you from booking an appt with me! I don’t hike to keep me able to photograph families. I don’t photograph weddings, so I can photograph families, and maternity, and other portrait sessions.

I photograph couples, maternity, senior, professional, and the list goes on. I won’t overwhelm you. If I had to choose one, my strong point would be kids and families, and people. I know, that’s not one! 😊 That’s my strong point because I’m addicted to kids laughter and smiles! Families are so different and personalities so unique that there is nothing mundane about my job. Baby bellies! I LOVE baby bellies too! When it comes to capturing tender moments, happy moments, personal moments, you can’t pick just one. All of them are so important, and so beautiful. That’s why I do what I do.

So that’s what I do. I’m a portrait photographer. With a passion for capturing moments that should last forever.

Because every photo has a story to tell.
